The restaurant that was Broadway East and is now Rosette isn’t the only Lower East Sider to get a reboot this week — chef Melissa O’Donnell opened Thelma on Clinton last night, in the space that used to house Salt Bar.

After closing her first spot, SoHo’s Salt, in 2011 and then shuttering Salt Bar earlier this year, O’Donnell launched a Kickstarter campaign and raised $50,000 on the promise of food that would “reflect the diversity of the Lower East Side.” (Thelma is named after O’Donnell’s Lebanese-American grandmother, who married an Irish man.)

O’Donnell retained many of her old cooks and staff members, but the renovated 50-seat dining room now has wood floors, a marble bar and an open view into the kitchen. It’s open 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and till 2 a.m. on Friday. On the weekends it’s open 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday and till 10 p.m. on Sunday.

In addition to what you see on the menu below, groups of 8 to 12 can reserve a communal table and order family-style meals 24 hours in advance (price TBD). The dinner includes snacks and small plates followed by a whole roast entrée with side vegetables, followed by a dessert course.

Thelma on Clinton, 29A Clinton Street, nr. Stanton St.; 212-979-8471
