If you’re still bummed about sleeping on that Tribeca Film Fest screening (tickets are now going for $98 to $324 on StubHub), take solace in this weekend’s Take Two Film Festival, boasting an “exciting roster of films showcasing a feisty new generation of artists exploring the frontiers of artistry and technology” for only $8 per night.

Whether you enjoy being creeped out by animated films guaranteed to haunt your nightmares (if so, Hands of Flames’ got your number) or delighted by comedies about dissatisfied ‘50’s housewives and/or twee young couples (we’re looking at you, Fruitcake and Charlie and Hope), the diverse lineup has something for all cinematic tastes.

The festival kicks off tonight at 5:30 p.m. with a screening of Us, Naked: Trixie & Monkey, a documentary that follows an acrobatic burlesque team as they travel around the country performing and honing their skills. Throughout their strange journey they attempt to balance love, art and financial stability, eventually settling into their new home in New York City.

The Take Two Film Festival takes place April 10-12 at Anthology Film Archives, 32 Second Avenue on the corner of 2nd Street. Find the complete schedule of show times here.
