Who says nothing happens in August? It’s the month Woodstock went down, and now we’re bringing you something even bigger. Okay, maybe not, but we’re still really excited to announce our first Bedford + Bowery Bazaar. Next Saturday, Aug. 31, we’re bringing some of our favorite North Brooklyn restaurants, shops, artists and artisans to the Lower East Side, where they’ll team up with some of Hester Street Fair’s most popular vendors. From noon to 6:30 p.m., Tørst will descend from “the top of the city’s craft-beer scene” to serve some beers never before tasted in Manhattan (we hear they’re also bringing a grill) — and then good ol’ Brooklyn Brewery will work the night shift, starting with a happy hour of free beer at 6:30 p.m.
That’s not all: Bushwick’s (and New York’s) best dance club, Bossa Nova Civic Club, will be putting some of its favorite DJs on the decks, and food makers like P&H Soda and Oddfellows (home of foie gras ice cream) will be debuting new menu items and flavors. You’ll also get a taste of Patacon Pisao before they open their Lower East Side shop: the Inwood favorite was using fried plantains as sandwich buns way before anyone started frying ramen for burgers (no disrespect). Oh, and we’re also bringing Bunker, the city’s best new cheap-eats joint, in from Ridgewood. Cancel that Uber!
All of that is just the start of it. Peep the flyer above to see who else is on board, including folks you’ve read about right here on Bedford + Bowery: In God We Trust, Campbell Cheese & Grocery, King Noodle, Harvest Cyclery, Beetle & Flor, and The Living Gallery. And stay tuned as we announce more in the next days.
See you next Saturday!
