Here’s an odd site outside of Sanford & Sven’s, our favorite Williamsburg junk shop: this signage came off of 308 Bowery when Duane Park moved in with Bowery Poetry Club. No, it’s not up for grabs. A store clerk told us they’re just storing it.
Meanwhile, in another Brooklyn-Bowery crossover, Bushwick Book Club is having its next get-togeth at the new incarnation of Bowery Poetry. The monthly “book club,” once based out of Goodbye Blue Monday before that closed, brings songwriters together to perform original numbers based on a book — or, in the case of the March 15 event, based on the poetry of Bowery Poetry Club founder Bob Holman, whose birthday is this month.
Happy birthday, Bob. We were going to buy you this sign as a gift but it looks like it’s still spoken for.
