Last night Ray’s Candy Store went full “candy shop,” as burlesque dancers once again hopped up on the lunch counter to celebrate Ray Alvarez’s 82nd birthday and his malt shop’s 40 years on Avenue A. According to a Facebook post, Ray not only got some lipstick kisses but also a scrapbook containing almost 200 photos of him and his shake shack over the years, which you can check out next time you drop in for some late-night cheese fries. He was quoted as saying, “When I die, I want to be buried with this book, some peanut butter, and my iPhone so I’ll have something to do.” See all the ray-cy photos over here.
