The Norbert’s Pizza flagship, at the corner of Myrtle Avenue and Charles Place, will be closing its graffitied grates for good next week. According to an employee, a new landlord has purchased the building and is sending them packing. No word yet on what’s moving in.

Opened in late 2012, the joint will be throwing a going away party with live music this Saturday at 9 p.m. to celebrate a few good years of serving up vegetarian pizza and garlic knots across the street from the beloved Little Skips. The party is open to the public – so stop by and pay your respects.

All is not lost, Bushwick. You can still get your fix of the grandma pie on your way home by stumbling into Norbert’s Express, the small counter-service location, under the Myrtle-Broadway JMZ at 4 Stuyvesant Avenue.
