tumblr_nblshmlzNw1qdp3k1o1_1280As if the opening of Orleans wasn’t exciting enough for the New Orleans starved, one of the city’s finest restaurants, Cochon, is next up in Momofuku’s Late-Night Dinner series, which has been importing some of the nation’s top toques to Momofuku Ssäm Bar for limited, late-night stints.

Details beyond the fact that it’ll happen Oct. 7 haven’t yet been revealed, but we’ll learn more on Sept. 16 at 10 a.m., when tickets go on sale (that date is now etched on our calendar alongside today’s iPhone announcement).

If you haven’t been to Cochon and/or its awesome next-door sandwich shop in Nola’s warehouse district, well, it’s pretty much the best restaurant ever. Donald Link — maybe the only chef in the land who’s more pork-happy than David Chang — has been nominated for James Beard Awards for Outstanding Chef the past three years running. Frank Bruni put it this way in the Times: “Just about any food lover who has spent any time in New Orleans over the last two years has been to this irresistible restaurant, and has responded with the kind of swoon typically reserved for the front rows at an Obama rally.”

Previous late-night dinners have cost $85 (with Philadelphia’s Zahav) and $115 (with Chicago’s Publican), including food, drinks and service — and they sold out fast, so brace for foodie frenzy.
