If you missed Lena and the gang outside of Toby’s Estate in Williamsburg on Friday you’ll have another chance to stalk them later this week, when Girls returns to Williamsburg. A sign on Bedford Avenue, near North 10th, indicates that Half a Yogurt Productions will once again be filming in the area Wednesday. Does this mean Ray gets fired in season four and is forced to take a job a the new Bean?
When the show shot in Ditmas Park earlier this month, DP Corner was told the leafy Central Brooklyn neighborhood would serve as a stand-in for Iowa City, where Hannah will be at grad school this season (the school declined a request to film on campus). But other reports have Staten Island — another filming location — serving as Iowa City. In April, the show filmed in Soho, where Bushwick’s own Zozia Mamet was spotted sporting Uggs and Allison Williams was seen rocking the denim.
Good to see the show returning to its roots in North Brooklyn.
Also returning to Williamsburg today, according to a sign located at Metropolitan near Berry Street, is The Leftovers. That HBO show – based on the bestselling novel by Tom Perrotta and executive produced by Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof – follows a suburban New York cop grappling with the sudden and mysterious disappearance of 2 percent of the world’s population. It’s uncertain how Williamsburg plays into the new series, which premieres June 29, but the trailer does feature a kid in a five-panel hat.
