Maybe you don’t recognize Kevin Corrigan’s name, but when you see his face and hear that Bronx accent, you realize, “Oh, yeah. That guy. I LOVE that guy.” He’s been in countless movies you like: Goodfellas, Pineapple Express, Superbad, The Departed. On TV, he’s known for Fringe, Damages, and The Mentalist.
A New Yorker through and through, Corrigan likes to chill at Spike Hill on Bedford Avenue before his local gig hosting The Talk Show Series at the nearby bar Over the Eight. Tonight at 9 p.m., he’ll be in conversation with an impossibly cool lineup: Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson of Broad City, Natasha Lyonne of Orange is the New Black, and Michael Shannon of Boardwalk Empire and the band Corporal (which plays 17 Frost Space on April 25).
If you miss tonight’s chat (seating is limited to 30 people, so you’ll have to arrive around 6 p.m. for any chance of grabbing a spot), then you can see Corrigan onscreen at BAM on April 21 for the 20th anniversary screening of the grimy Lower East Side pic Rhythm Thief, or rocking out with Daniel Harnett at Sidewalk Cafe on April 26. (This is one busy man.)
